Lavender Love

What started off as an hour to trim the lavender hedge, turned in to a day of getting my creativity on.

Quite a few bees had to be encouraged to leave before I could start in with the shears. Not hard to see why the bees love it so much as once I started snipping away it turned in to an aromatherapy session. As I gathered up the cuttings it seemed such a waste to just throw it on the compost heap so instead I put them to good use.

Most of the clippings were popped in to a pot of gritty compost to make new plants (hopefully!).  The rest I turned in to a scented garland and the dried flower heads went in to small linen bags to hang around the house
